The Ugly Kid

People say I am ugly when they look at me

Because my outside is all that they can see

If they would only look deep under my skin

They would be able to know the truth then

Maybe they would

Talk to me

Walk with me

Listen to me

Be my friend

They see the scars on my wrist and my face

They say that I do not belong in this place

They do not know where I am or where I been

If they would try to understand, maybe then

Maybe they would

Talk to me

Walk with me

Listen to me

Be my friend

I sit alone, and I cry here in my dark place

I try to survive alone here in this ugly space

No one comes to visit me; into the dark, I blend

If someone cared even just a little, maybe then

Maybe they would

Talk to me

Walk with me

Listen to me

Be my friend
